Innovation & Ultimate Driving Machines at the Ceramic Pro Open House

by Matt Gage

If you weren't able to make it out to Ceramic Pro San Diego on Sunday, July 12, 2026, you missed one of our more information-packed chapter events of the year. Our local BMW community showed up for an afternoon dedicated to automotive protection, cutting-edge customization technology, and catching up with fellow members.

The event was hosted at Ceramic Pro San Diego’s pristine Elite Dealer facility. For those unfamiliar, they are a premier destination for local auto protection. The team put together a hands-on, educational Open House centered around answering questions regarding protecting our investment and personalizing our builds.

The highlight of the day was getting a firsthand look at a new revolutionary technology in the industry: PeelClear. Ceramic Pro technicians walked us through exactly how the system works. PeelClear is a professionally spray-applied, peelable automotive coating. The team did a live removal demonstration right off a panel as they peeled the product away, revealing the pristine surface underneath. During the Q&A session, we learned that the PeelClear technology provides a protective layer that keeps your original factory finish safe underneath; at 8-12 mil thick, it provides impact resistance against rock chips and road debris similar to paint protection film; can be matched to any color: individual or custom and in either matte or high-gloss finishes; can be polished out to remove light surface imperfections; and it can be overlaid with a ceramic coating.

Events like this remind us why being a part of the BMW CCA San Diego Chapter is so rewarding. We walked away with new knowledge on how to care for our vehicles, directly from industry professionals who love the culture as much as we do. A huge thank you to Carter, Sam, and the entire team at Ceramic Pro San Diego for answering our questions, providing a delicious taco bar for our members, and treating our chapter to an exceptional afternoon!
