Venue

Our new autocross location is North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista.

NO-WORK AUTOCROSS FORMAT

Driving: Register for one or more hourly drive sessions throughout the day. We limit the number of cars in each session to ensure a lot of laps during each hourly drive session.

No Working: We provide the corner workers, so you never have to work the course picking up cones!

Get Rides & Socialize: Before or after your driving session, hang out to get rides with instructors, socialize with friends, or purchase a tasty lunch.

NOTE: Please arrive 1 hour prior to your driving session to register, prep your vehicle, and attend the mandatory Driver's Meeting.

Car Classes

Cars will be placed in Class A, B, C, D, E, F, X (non-BMW), or GOLD (Instructors). See our Car Classes page for more details.

Awards

Awards can be claimed at any subsequent autocross event. Just visit the registration table and provide your name and the date of the autocross in which you placed First, Second, or Third in your car class.

Bathrooms

We have access to the indoor, permanent bathrooms of the Amphitheater.

Lunches

If you’d like lunch at the event, please purchase lunch when you register. Keep in mind that lunch is served around noon so if your runs are not adjacent to that time, you may not want to stick around to wait for lunch.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

  • Stop at the Gate and show your Smartwaiver or sign the physical waiver to receive your wristband.

  • Find a parking spot.

  • Park your car and walk to Registration.

  • If you don’t have your own number to put on the side of your car, you can borrow tape to create car numbers (we do not provide numbers).

  • Registration will tell you what time to line your car up for pre-inspection and driver’s meeting.

  • Empty all loose items from your car.

  • If you don’t have a helmet, you can rent one at Registration for $10.

Important info

Helmets: Must be Snell SA or Snell M, 2015 or later. If you don’t have a helmet, you can rent one from us at the event for $10. If running an open-wheeled car, a full face helmet and visor are required.

Noise Limit: All cars MUST be under a 95dB noise level—we will be checking! Over 95dB = no autocross.

Rain: We run rain or shine. You’ll learn more and your tires will wear less!

Members Only: You must be a BMW CCA member to participate. Join online at bmwcca.org in advance.

Car Tech: Your car must pass an on-site tech inspection the day of the event.

Vehicle Restrictions: Due to rollover concerns, some tall vehicles are not allowed (vehicle must be wider than it is tall, may not have a live axle, and may not have a lifted suspension) No two- or three-wheeled vehicles.

Register Online Early: We usually fill all the spots prior to the event, so register online early.

License: Drivers must have a valid driver's license, and drivers under age 18 must have legal guardians present to sign a waiver in-person on-site. Only notarized minor waivers will be accepted without the legal guardian present.

Passengers: Drivers may NOT take passengers other than identified Instructors. If a passenger riding with an instructor is under the age of 18, the passenger must be a minimum of 4'9" tall and at least 85 pounds in weight.

Cancellations: Registration can be canceled 7 days before the event for a full refund. Any cancellations after the cutoff but before registration closes will result in a 50% credit for a future event. No-shows after registration closes or on the day of the event will not receive a refund or credit. NOTE: that this description of the cancellation policy could be out-of-date so please refer to the cancellation policy as described on the event page itself.

Newcomers

We’ve all had a first time and we are all still learning, so relax, have fun and enjoy your time with us. Your first few runs will be very slow to allow you to learn the course, and you have the option to have an instructor take you around the course for one lap in your car showing you turn-in points, braking zones and so forth. Your instructor may then optionally ride with you for some or all of your laps to help you learn the course. These events are what you make them; you can push for good lap times and enjoy the friendly competition, or you can have more of a social event where running laps is just another part of a fun-filled day.
