Autocross - Ultimate - West lot

Join us for our final autocross of 2018! Come out to SDCCU Stadium’s huge west lot to hang with friends, chew up some tires, and watch our instructor corps duke it out in our 6th Annual Instructor Runoff. And get your vote in for you fav instructor and staff volunteer. We’ll be back on Standard Time and limited to 80 participants, so register early.

You don’t need a BMW to enjoy the fun; all marques are welcome at our autocrosses!

Instructor and Staff Appreciation Day! Your volunteer instructors work tirelessly at our events jumping in and out of cars for hours at a time. Imagine how hot and exhausted you are after a few laps in 80 °F heat. Now imagine several non-stop hours of that! So, let’s show these hard-working folks our appreciation with our Instructor Runoff and Instructor of the Year awards!

Our “Staff” members are actually all volunteers. They spend most of their day working to bring you the best event possible. We try to make sure that they, too, drive in the event, but many of our volunteers attend the event solely to work. That deserves a huge THANKS! Let them know you appreciate them with our Staff Volunteer of the Year award!

Onsite registration costs $10 extra and openings are NOT guaranteed.

IMPORTANT: The helmet standard has changed to require Snell 2010 or 2015 ratings. Check yours now to be sure it’s up to date as rentals are limited. All cars MUST be under a 91 dB noise level and we’ll be checking! Over 91 dB = no autocross.

Register online at MSR.

BMW Overnight Big Bear Lake Weekend Drive

Registration closes on June 8, 2018 11:59 PM PDT
Join us on Saturday June 9th and 10th for a weekend of scenic driving through state and national parks! We will drive over 400 miles over two days with an overnight stop in adventurous Big Bear Lake! On Sunday, we will drive through the hills of the Angeles National Forest and drop down into LA for a tour of the Petersen Museum.

Saturday we will meet at BMW of Escondido (1557 Auto Park Way, Escondido, CA 92029) at noon, and lunch will be provided by BMW of Escondido. At 12:30, I will give a brief overview of the days drive and will hand out direction and a list of Points of Interest that you may indulge upon yourself. You can drive straight to Big Bear Lake, or stop at scenic viewpoints or stores for shopping. This is a "choose your own adventure" drive in that you can do a spirited drive all th way, you can take your time and enjoy the break from the normal day-to-day routines, or you can stop in all teh small towns to see what they have to offer. There is no one way to do this event!

Saturday night, we will meet for dinner as a group, location to be determined the morning of.

For lodging, it is up to you to make your own arrangements. Many hotels in Big Bear have multiple night stay requirements, and other main hotels are already booked for teh evening. I recommend making a reservation through the individual hotel website or Hotels.com. There is no group code or reservation number. If rooms are unavailable, please look for nearby hotels. Rooms are sparse in Big Bear so reserve your room soon.

Sunday we will meet at Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain (800 Wildrose Ln, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315) at 8am. At 8:30, I will again go over the day and pass out driving directions. Then we drive due west towards the Petersen Automotive Museum. We should arrive at the museum around noon. Optional is to return to San Diego if you'd like to pass on the museum tour, the choice is yours.

After the tour, we shall embark south on the wondrous highway system that is Los Angeles towards our home. There is no final meetup, just head south towards your home and reminisce of wonderful weekend you just had.

Hosted by the San Diego Chapter and Central Cal Chapter, BMW CCA

Sponsored by BMW of Escondido/Brecht Motorsports, 5 Point Detail, Autobahn Parts, and Autobahn West.

Join fellow club members for a track weekend featuring a High Performance Driving School, Time Trial, and a Club Racing School! We'll also be joined on site by the Big Euro NorCal vs SoCal car show on Saturday.

We're offering an A-Solo group (no in-car coaching) for the most advanced students. An optional Advanced Data Coaching class may be added to help get the most out of your driving sessions using in-car telemetry (up to 10 students.)

And for aspiring racers or advanced drivers, the BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School provides new driving experiences in a fun, highly structured, non-contact environment. Open to all organizations: BMW, NASA, PCA, POC, SCCA, etc.

Another new option for the most advanced drivers is the Time Trial group. Time Trial is a competitive, timed event with no instruction, and run under BMW Club Racing sanctions. A transponder will be provided (or bring your own and get a $25 discount).

NOTE: A-Solo, Race School, and Time Trial groups are advanced levels, and extensive on-track experience is required for registration.

Annual Interclub K1 Speed Challenge

Join us on Saturday, February 24 for the annual K1 Speed Challenge (K1 Speed SD Downtown location) between the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego, San Diego Miata Club, and San Diego BMWCCA. Last year competition was fierce and fun. This year promises to be just as good!

The racing will be a mini-Grand Prix format. Each club will race a qualifying race to set lap-times. Racers are then divided into three interclub classes based on qualifying lap times so fun and competitive racing can be had at all racing levels. The GP races are lap and position-based instead of standard K1 'arrive and drive' best lap-time races. The cost is $44 per racer, which is $5 less than the regular price. An awards ceremony and lunch will be planned; details to be determined.

We are looking for a minimum of 10 racers to participate. Please RSVP by emailing the Social Director at sd-events@sdbmwcca.com.
