2016 HPDE at Chuckwalla

Welcome novice and returning students to San Diego Chapter BMW Car Club of America High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) School at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, Desert Center, California. This year we are offering the opportunity for Novice students - those people who have never participated in a BMW CCA Driving School - to join us at a reduced rate.

Our Driving School mission is to improve your driving skills while having fun. Our goal is to teach you safe driving skills and habits in a controlled situation. We hope what you learn will benefit you in your normal day-to-day driving, especially when confronted with emergency situations. We will emphasize the relationship of the driver and vehicle, how to make them function in unison, and give you the opportunity to learn your limitations and expand your capabilities. Our Instructors have a lot of driving experience to mentor students.

We use a racetrack to provide a safe, controlled environment. This is not a racing school. Emphasis will be on safe, smooth, controlled driving. At no time will you be pressed to go any faster than you are comfortable. Participants will be grouped according to experience and, to some degree, model of automobile. We will run the track anti-clockwise this year.

Registration is open at Early Bird registration fee is $449 through February 21, 2016. Early Bird NOVICE Registration fee is $399 through February 21. Regular registration fee after February 21, 2016 is $499. NOVICE registration after February 21 is $449. This fee includes individual in-car track instruction, classroom sessions, lunch Saturday and Sunday and Saturday Social at the track with heavy hors d'oeuvres. Water will be provided throughout the event. It is important to stay hydrated.

The Motel 6 is the host hotel. The Motel 6 is located at 82195 Indio Blvd, Indio, 760-342-6311. For reservations call 800 466 8356, option 1, new reservations and ask for Group Sales. The Group Number is M031300097. The rate per night is $109.99 +tax for one person; $115.99 +tax for two persons. It is imperative you make room reservations early as rooms are scare in the area at this time of year. We will offer light appetizers at our event registration mixer on Friday night, March 11th, from 5:30-8:00 PM at the hotel. Please bring your Tech Inspection form, Medical Information form, proof of insurance and SNELL 2005 or newer helmet to get signed off during the registration process.
