”Kickoff the New Year” Cars and Coffee event recap!

by Tyler Johnson

Our first Cars and Coffee event of the New Year was a resounding success (especially if you consider some of the exhaust notes!) The weather couldn’t have been better under a clear, sunny, San Diego winter day. We had over 100 BMWs participating this time and several other marques showing up as well. It was good to be back at Liberty Station at the Point Loma Cars and Coffee event, a fan favorite. (@pointlomacarsandcoffee)

Coffee was the first order of the day as our club provided fresh coffee to all that wanted a warm cup of joe. Next was a stroll around the lot to explore the various cars, trucks, wagons, SAVs, vans, motorcycles, and even a HumVee. Chatting with owners is always the best part of Cars and Coffee. Owners love to share their car stories, race stories, build stories, and how they came to become BMW enthusiasts. Some notables included an M-powered E36 wagon, a Lightweight tribute convertible, and a race-prepped Z3 Coupe for sale. Other non BMWs included an electric powered VW Thing, an unrestored classic Citroen, a cat on a leash, and even a pig!

Be sure to look for another Cars and Coffee event coming soon. And don’t forget to look for our SD BMWCCA flag and come say “Hi”!
