We are traveling down to the Big Easy and you do not want to miss this opportunity to join us on famed Bourbon Street! The host hotel for O’fest will be the Hyatt New Orleans and the track is, NOLA Motorsports.

Where do you go when it is time to get away? What if you knew of a place where the scenery isn't all that changes? A place where centuries old architecture is the backdrop for a culture so invigorating, it'll rouse your spirit. Visit the most fun and authentic city in America: New Orleans.

Oktoberfest will run from Tuesday, October 31 through Saturday, November 4, 2017, and will feature many of the staples that longtime attendees have become familiar with at previous gatherings, including the Bridgestone autocross, Concours, rallies, and of course, high-performance driving events. This year’s edition will also feature some very unique social events—a 1940's themed dinner at the World War II Museum, BMW CCA Nightclub at club XLIV and a night in the French Quarter

This will be a bucket-list week of excitement and fun for any BMW enthusiast. Stay tuned for other surprises that have yet to be announced!

It's that time again--our annual Runoff Autocross is happening in the West Lot of Qualcomm on Sunday, June 18! This is our tenth runoff event which honors the memory of Rug Cunningham, founder of Cunningham BMW, now BMW of El Cajon.

Eleven drivers will qualify for our 2017 Runoff by winning their car classes. The winner of the Runoff will get his or her name on the perpetual trophy and will receive a personal trophy to display with pride. Our format includes one practice session for all drivers, followed by three timed runs to determine trophies for each class. The first-place winner of each car class earns a runoff position in the afternoon. As all other drivers continue to enjoy fun runs in the afternoon, each runoff contender will drive the same “mystery” car. The driver with the best time will be crowned our 2017 Runoff Champion. Online Registration opens March 15
Register Online at http://sdbmwcca.motorsportreg.com

Come on out to Qualcomm's Southeast Lot on Saturday, April 29, and celebrate a special event with us! The Spring Fling autocross commemorates Rich Gehring, who was the backbone of our Chapter for over 30 years. Rich served on the San Diego Chapter Board of Directors in many different roles, but the role that he was famous for was that of Equipmentmeister. Rich kept all of our autocross and driving school equipment, along with our truck and trailer, in perfect working order for more years than we can remember. He was at every autocross and HPDE, where he would help set up and run the event. Rich gave an immeasurable gift to our chapter through his time, generosity, knowledge, and experience. His exceptional kindness and his genuine smile continue to inspire us.

Back in his day, Rich won more than his share of autocross trophies, so celebrate his memory by engaging in one of his favorite events--a fast and fun San Diego Chapter autocross!

Qualcomm Patchapalooza '17

The west lot of Qualcomm is crumbling away in all the wrong places. In order to avoid the pot holes, we have to alter our courses—sometimes in the middle of the day. It looks like we’ll have the lot for, at least, a few more years, so it’s worth investing a little time and money to make our events better. To that end, we’re having another patching party where we’ll clean up some of the important areas and refill with concrete or cold patch asphalt. We need volunteers, wheelbarrows, and tools.

We’ll meet in the west lot on 1/15 at 9am. Please let us know if you can make it by joining our Facebook event. We need you!

Ultimate Autocross - West Lot

  • Qualcomm Stadium

We’re down to our final autocross of 2016 and your last chance to earn points! We’ll be back in the West Lot of Qualcomm for tons of holiday fun! We'll have our 4th Annual Instructor Runoff and our Instructor / Staff appreciation awards. We are also planning to collect for Toys for Tots at this event, so bring your new, unwrapped toys and spread some holiday happiness!

Instructor and Staff Appreciation Day!
 Your volunteer instructors work tirelessly at our events—jumping in and out of cars for hours at a time. Imagine how hot and exhausted you are after a few laps in 80 °F heat. Now imagine several non-stop hours of that! So, let’s show these hard-working folks our appreciation with our Instructor Runoff and Instructor of the Year awards!  Our "Staff" members are actually all volunteers. They spend most of their day working to bring you the best event possible. We try to make sure that they, too, drive in the event, but many of our volunteers attend the event solely to work. That deserves a huge THANKS! Let them know you appreciate them with our Staff Volunteer of the Year award!

Since we’ll be back on Standard Time, we are limited to 80 participants, so register early!

This is the last event where we’ll accept helmets with the Snell 2005 rating. Next year, only helmets with Snell 2010 or 2015 ratings will be allowed. **

A December Two-County BMW Dealership Drive

Our next drive/cruise will cover both San Diego and part of southern Riverside counties, We will start at the Target store parking lot in Poway and drive some of the most interesting back highways into Riverside county. From the county line we will travel over a few northern county by-ways to our final destination. That final stop will be at Boris Said's BMW of Murrieta dealership. Our Nick Owen has arranged this visit and Mr. Said has stated that a food truck will be there for our lunch. This should be an interesting Sunday drive over some scenic roads with a great lunch stop.
