Nominees

Matt Gage - I am running for President

I’ve been an active club member since I purchased my first BMW in 2016 and been a member of the Board first as Social Director (2018-20) then as Vice President (2020-present).

I also organize the quarterly club tours, promote generating content for the website, and organized the move to virtual meetings. I am a previous winner of the Volunteer of the Year and Outstanding Chapter Officer awards.

In my first term as Vice President, I started recording basic metrics on membership in an attempt to derive patterns in membership fluctuations. I'd like to gain a better understanding of what our member expectations of our chapter and how we can provide activities to increase engagement, perhaps through surveys. For 2023, I'm looking forward to helping our chapter try to resurrect our famed autocross program. As president, I can help keep the Board organized and focused on our most important priorities such as hosting events that help to increase chapter membership.

Greg Uhler - I am running for Vice President and Autocross Director

I’ve been a San Diego BMW CCA member since 1997, and served on the board as Newsletter Editor for a few years and most recently as chapter President for a few years. I’m enthusiastic about all BMW’s (and MINI) and enjoy being part of the team that plans, organizes, and runs events for our chapter. My vision for 2023 is to re-establish our autocross program at one or more new venues and to provide the best experience for our members. Thank you!

Catalina Uhler - I am running for Social Events Director

I have been a BMW CCA member since 1998, riding as co-pilot/navigator on many driving adventures with my husband, Greg. I have also participated in many autocrosses, Performance Center events, backroad drives, O’Fests, and social events. Though I can’t always discuss specific BMW models and parts, I can appreciate beautiful cars and love talking with other BMW enthusiasts.

I have served on the board for the past two years as one of the Directors at Large. I helped coordinate a few Cars & Coffee events and group tours of the San Diego Automotive Museum and Petersen Automotive Museum. I hope to continue planning more family friendly events and already have several ideas to engage our fantastic SD BMWCCA family.

Ryan Moore - I am re-running for Treasurer

I've been an active member with the San Diego Chapter since 2010 and served as the Chapter Treasurer since 2018. It would be my honor to continue to serve the Chapter as Treasurer in 2023.

Paul Silver - I am re-running for Secretary

I’ve been an active member of the club since 2010, serving as your Chapter Secretary 2014-2015 and from 2018 to the present. My favorite part of being a member of the BMW CCA has been the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made. Through our club, I’ve had some amazing experiences, including attending my first Oktoberfest, participating in a group European Delivery experience, and participating in some awesome auto crosses, backroad driving tours, social events, and even a few rallies. I enjoy volunteering to help put on events, as I did recently at the return of our annual car show, now known as “Bimmers by the Bay,” and I look forward to returning to the volunteer staff for our autocross program. It would be my honor to continue serving as our Chapter Secretary.

Lisa Goehring - I am re-running for Driving School Director

As a club member since 2006, I’ve served on our Chapter board in various positions for the past 16 years. I’ve served multiple terms as Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Communications Director, President from 2018-2020, and this past year as Driving School Director.

I’ve served as a member of the driving team for a number of years, assisting with graphics, promotion, swag, sponsorship acquisition, and helping out at registration. Now that we’re able to get back on track after a few years of dormancy, I hope to help our program get back in action, providing the fun, safe, and instructional events our members know and love.

The Club has provided so many fantastic experiences and friends to me over the years, and I look forward to continuing to give back and help grow our club in the years ahead.

Brett Litoff - I am re-running for Wachsmeister

I have been a BMW CCA member since 1994 and have been involved with the San Diego Chapter for about 15 years in many Board and unofficial positions.. As your current Wachsmeister I am very proud that our car show, Bimmers by the Bay, was a huge success for both our members and the community-at-large. I plan on continuing the event for many years to come and look forward to meeting everyone at more in-person events. My number one goal is making sure we are meeting our members' needs/showing the value of the club to current and future members.

Steve Hovland – I am running for Communications Director

I have been a club member since 2009 when I purchased my E46 330i. I have loved BMWs since I was a kid, watching them compete at Riverside International Raceway near where I grew up. My youngest child graduated from high school last June and I am finally at a point in my life where I can commit to giving back to the club that has given me so much over the years. In my 32 year career as an insurance agency owner, communicating with my clients and colleagues is what I do do all day, every day. I look forward to using those skills to encourage as much participation from club members as possible and providing valuable information that can help enhance the BMW Club experience!

Rudy Bañuelos - I am re-running for Webmeister

New to the club as a member in 2021. I have had the honor of serving as Webmeister for the second half of 2021 board year. In a short time with the club I have marvelled at dream cars, displayed my Z3 on the lawn, and visited others with the group at museums! It would be a continued pleasure to serve the club as Webmeister.

Matt Baratz - I am re-running for Director at Large (Assistant Equipment Meister)

I moved from New Jersey to San Diego in 2017 and have really enjoyed participating in a number of great San Diego Chapter events. Before moving west, I was Business Manager for the NJ Chapter where I helped support and grow the Club.

I have been meaning to become more active once again with Club. Working with both San Diego Chapter members and my old friends from the NJ Chapter at Octoberfest was great fun and the trigger to throw my hat in the ring and help where needed. I am running for Assistant Equipment Meister because I would like to return the favor to the Club and Chapter.

Thi Tran - I am re-running for Director at Large

Four-year member of BMW CCA (San Diego and Golden Gate chapters) who is crazy enough to use his E39 M5 as the track toy. Looking to give back to the community by helping organize safe and fun Driving Schools.

Kim Dais - I am re-running for Director at Large

I have been a San Diego Chapter member since 2003 and have served on the board in various positions for about 15 of those years. In the 2000’s I was very active in the autox program, first competing, then instructing and assisting with tech inspections. My husband (whom I met through the club) and I are active in BMW Club Racing with a pair of E36’s. We also have 3 other BMW daily-drivers. I own and operate a general automotive repair shop, Miramar Automotive & Transmission. Prior to that, I spent many years working at dealerships, including 2 BMW dealerships, in the service departments. I love this chapter and want to see it continue to be successful.

Bryan Gaier - I am running for Director at Large

I’ve been an active member with the San Diego Chapter since 2011 and a BMW enthusiast for over fifteen years. I’ve enjoyed attending many club events including driving tours, tech seminars, and the BMW Performance Center, to name a few. I often have my camera with me and love capturing and sharing these awesome moments with the club by contributing photos to the newsletter. It would be my honor to serve as Director at Large to help plan and assist at events as well as support the chapter for continuing growth and success in the future.
