Garage Collective & Motor Union Car'Toberfest 2021 Recap

by Tyler Johnson

We had another great cars and coffee event, this time down in a new location in Barrio Logan at the K1 Speed parking lot. Hosted and organized by Garage Collective, we nearly filled the 100 car parking lot with all sorts of unique and interesting cars. This being an Oktoberfest theme, it was only fitting to reserve premium parking for BMWs and other German marques. Prost! One nice touch was at the corner of the venue where three German cars were lined up in the colors of the German flag: a black Z4 M Coupe, a red BMW Isetta (and later a 330i ZHP E46), and a yellow 911. Perfection!

The event included coffee and donuts for sale as well some merchandise from Garage Collective. Music was also provided with a live DJ spinning some old and new school records.

After a couple hours of enjoying the vibe and ogling the amazing cars, the party migrated a block down the street where Garage Collective was hosting a grand opening party at their new location. A few choice cars from the day were selected to drive into the space and park on display. A race prepped 2002, an E36 Lightweight, an E30 in Warsteiner livery, a Euro E36 wagon, a 3.0CSi to name a few! It was a sight to behold with the cars arranged inside the vintage brick building and views of the Coronado Bridge and downtown just outside.  Chatting with fellow enthusiasts and club members was the highlight however, as sharing the passion for our cars is what brings us together.

Stay tuned for the next cars and coffee event and be sure to bring whatever you are driving or project you are working on. All are welcome!
