I'm working to add content to make the site more
interesting. I have dropped the lightly used forums section. I will be adding

Autocross Online Registration
Autocross registration opens this Friday night at 1 minute after midnight (or Saturday 12:01 AM for the purist). Sign up
at sdbmwcca.motorsportsreg.com. The first 10 X cars are guaranteed a spot,
we will take 100 total. Registration is now $60, we had to increase the price to make up for the increased stadium fee for
the parking lot.
Video of our First Driving School
Our first Driving School was way back in 1989 at the desolate Holtville airport raceway (near El Centro). We had some
unexpected guests, the British Royal Air Force paratroopers who offered to exchange rides in their vehicle
for rides in ours. Easy decision. We also wanted to set up a photo of them flying over a line-up of cars.
The first pass provided the perfect photo opp, a shot that made the cover of the newsletter. But then they came
back unexpectedly for a second pass See the video here
Cunningham Autocross Runoff
The return of an autocross runoff was inspired by the memory of Rug Cunningham and his legacy of friendly competition.
Jeff Gerken, Center Operator of our autocross supporter Cunningham BMW, offered to create the Rug Cunningham Memorial
Trophy to award to a BMW CCA member every year.

August 30 This event has been canceled, there were not enough
people signed up to be able to purchase the tickets
Chapter Board Meeting
September 9
The meeting is open to all chapter members. We meet at Giovanni's, 9353 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
The club provides a selection of pizza and soda, starting around 5:45. The board meeting
starts at 6:30. Visitors are welcome, come by and see what the chapter is planning.
San Diego Chapter Autocross
September 14
We will be running on the West Lot. Online registration will open 3 weeks before the event,
check the website for updates. Registration will be $60 (the stadium raised the lot rent),
we will take 100 cars with the first 10 non BMWs
given a spot.

Poker Run Rally at Cunningham BMW
September 21
Meet at the Cunningham Used Car Lot, across the street from the Cunningham BMW. Meet at
8:30, first car out at 9:00, last car out at 9:30.
Poker Run Rally - Each driver (or couples) will be given two cards before they leave.
There will be 3 check points along the way. Each car will recieve 1 card at each
check point. After all cars have returned, the driver or couple with the best hand wins.
Cunningham BMW will provide BBQ, Trophies and Music after the Rally.

11th Annual Coronado Speed Festival
September 27-28 We will have a corral and Cunningham will be hosting
lunch on Saturday. Check the
