BMWCCA San Diego Chapter – Board Meeting Minutes for Oct. 9, 2007
Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m.

Secretary’s Report:
The September minutes were distributed and approved without change.
Treasurer’s Report:
The checking account balance is $11,798.25; the CD balance is $7,725.59. Total account funds = $19,523.84.
President’s Report:
The overall trend for the Club's finances is looking good. Descriptions for Board of Director positions are in the November newsletter; elections will be held during the monthly board meeting on Dec. 11. The L.A. chapter borrowed some helmets for their driving school and one is still due to be returned. Club name tags are ready for engraving for any members interested in obtaining one.
Vice President's Report:
Welcome letters for new members are nearly up to date. The Dyno Day targeted for Nov. 11 will need to be rescheduled, possibly sometime in January.
Autocross Director’s Report:
The September autocross was sold out and made $2400. The October 21 autocross will be held in the West lot and will feature a helmet decorating contest; contest participants will get an extra practice lap. More volunteers are needed to assist with conducting autocross events. A Street Survival School could be scheduled for next spring. The BMW CCA Foundation plays a major role in the program and the Chapter would provide support with equipment and people for the event. Dan Tackett will take the lead on working to set up the event. At the Oktoberfest event in Fort Worth, the public service charity awards were presented and the San Diego Chapter was chosen as the leading chapter in charity fundraising for 2006. ZF Transmissions will be donating money to the top fundraising chapters.
Driving Event Director's Report:
The date for the 2008 Driving School is still undetermined; news on scheduling is expected in the next few weeks.
Newsletter Editor’s Report:
The newsletter will not be published in December.
Social Director’s Report:
The final social event this year is the wine tasting/lunch tour onr Oct. 28 at Shadow Mt. Vineyards. The deadline for RSVPs is Oct. 12.
Waxmeister’s Report
The Annual Holiday Party is Dec. 9 at the San Diego Auto Museum. Last year the Chapter financed the cost of the raffled gift certificates. A motion was made to use the same procedure of returning RSVP checks to members at the party, but not cover the cost of buying gift certificates for the raffle. The motion was approved. Other ideas for raffles or drawings will be discussed at the Nov. meeting.

Updates to the web site are a little behind schedule.
