BMWCCA San Diego Chapter – Board Meeting Minutes for March 11, 2008


Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Kim Wright in Gordon Anderson's absence.

Secretary’s Report:

The February minutes were distributed and approved without change.


Treasurer’s Report:

The checking account balance is $12,438.77 (-$4,432 in outstanding checks); the CD balance is $7,928.65. Total account funds = $15,935.42.


Regional Vice President's Report:

Bimmerfest is coming up on May 3 and BMWCCA will have a booth there. The next National Board meeting will held in San Diego in three months. National will reimburse Chapters for event insurance if applied for within 30 days. The 2008 Oktoberfest will held in Watkins Glen, September 16-21. The new BMWCCA web site is finally up and running.


President’s Report:

(Gordon Anderson is away on vacation.)


Vice President's Report:

Preliminary quotes for car decals was discussed. Lisa Goehring will obtain more detailed quotes for quantities of 1000 for the April meeting.


Autocross Director’s Report:

The March 22 Autocross, with an Easter theme, will be held in the West lot. Motorsportreg.com is available to provide registration for other events such as social or tech sessions. Central California Chapter will host this year's regional instructor training on May 30. Participating chapters typically contribute financially to the host chapter. A motion was made and approved to contribute $1000 to Central California towards the cost of the training event.


Driving Event Director’s Report:

Planning for the Buttonwillow Driving School is underway and the committee will meet on Thursday.


Newsletter Editor’s Report:

Nothing new to report.


Social Director’s Report:

All tickets have been sold for the April 4 Padres game vs. the Dodgers. Other events being planned include a Harbor Excursion cruise, Summer Pops, and Palm Springs Tram & Follies.


Webmeister’s Report:

Jim Patterson is unable to attend the BMWCCA Editor's Conference in April. Lisa Goehring will fill in and attend with Bill Woolard.


Other Business:

JMC Motorsports is hosting a safety-related Tech Session on March 19 with PCA. Brecht BMW will host a Tech Session for the new 1 Series on April 17. The Street Survival school was mentioned and the Chapter intends to host an event later in the year.
