Treasurer’s Report:

A balance of $4,146.04 was reported in the checking account. There have been a lot of expenses lately (such as the Driving School). Funds are low and expenses need to be reduced. The 2006 tax return is prepared and ready to sign.

President’s Report:

The Club needs to look at ways to cut back expenses and improve it’s financial status. One option is to cut back the color newsletter issues to one per year. Another is to raise advertising rates to cover increased postage costs. A small committee will gather information and discuss ways to reduce costs and increase income to cover newsletter production expenses. New chapter stickers could be produced for $1.24 each. A motion was made and approved to trail discussion of ordering new stickers for two months. BMW convertibles are being solicited for use in the Borrego Springs Parade if any owners are interested.

Vice President’s Report:

New member welcome letters are continuing to be sent out at approximately 35 per month.

Autocross Director’s Report:

The May 27 autocross successfully used the new online registration process and netted over $1800. Cunningham BMW will begin sponsoring the trophies with the next event. A Two-Day autocross is set for July 21-22. Saturday will be like a standard autocross, and Sunday will be more casual and open to all makes of cars. A Dinan gift certificate could be auctioned or raffled at the July event. A motion to do an auction, with proceeds added to money raised at Clean Car auction for the United Ostomy Association, was made and approved. A request was received from a private party to rent the trailer and equipment for a small weekday that would benefit a charity. A motion to rent the equipment for $350 plus fuel refill was made and approved.

Driving School Director’s Report:

The Buttonwillow Driving School was successfully held and received a number of compliments. A low attendance of 74 students resulted in an overall loss of approximately $2,050 for the event.

Newsletter Editor’s Report:

The July issue would usually be a full color issue with the Clean Car photos, significantly increasing the printing costs. A motion was made to print this issue in B/W and have the color photos posted on the web site; the motion passed.

Social Director’s Report:

Twelve people participated in the Pine Hills Lodge Brunch. Nearly all of the Padres game tickets are sold, but tickets for Chicago at the Civic Theatre are available. October 21 was selected as potential wine tasting tour date.

Waxmeister’s Report

76 BMW’s participated in the Clean Car Contest. Recommended donation of $3,000 to United Ostomy Association would match last two years donation. Pacific Region V.P. Steve Johnson offered to contribute money from National to cover any difference in the final net auction proceeds and $3,000. A motion was made and approved to donate $3,000, with some funding coming from National.

Webmeister’s Report:

Nothing new to report.

Other Business:

The Cunningham BMW Tech Session is June 28. A possible tech session at Thearle’s Autowerks being considered for September.
