BMWCCA San Diego Chapter – Board Meeting Minutes for Jan. 8, 2008
Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m.

Secretary’s Report:
The December minutes were distributed and approved without change. The possibility to set up a Land's End store for the Chapter will be pursued. Options for ordering car decals will be investigated.
Treasurer’s Report:
The checking account balance is $15,430.60; the CD balance is $7,826.57. Total account funds = $2,257.17. A motion was made and approved to pay the storage facility costs 1 year in advance.
Regional Vice President's Report:
The redesigned National website is still not up but testing is expected soon. The new Executive Director should be finalized shortly.
President’s Report:
Yearly reports to National BMWCCA are being submitted. Cost of the existing storage location for the trailer was changed to $80 per month; a motion to pay $80 per month to keep current storage area, and not include free autocross entry, was approved. Rich Gehring will research costs to replace old, damaged trailer cover. Brecht BMW will host a 1 series introduction on April 17th. Charitable contributions were discussed and a motion to donate $1,500 in addition to Toys for Tots contributions was approved. A motion was made and passed to add $115 to existing money collected for Toys for Tots to make an even $500 donation. A motion was made to divide the $1,500 charity contribution evenly ($500 each) among Becky's House, Volunteer San Diego, and San Diego Hospice; the motion passed. Nominations were made for the 2007 Bill Brecht Service Award; Dan Tackett was chosen as the recipient.
Vice President’s Report:
No news to report.
Autocross Director’s Report:
The meeting to schedule autocross dates will be held this week. A Rug Cunningham Memorial Trophy will be planned as an autocross run-off event in the summer. The BMWCCA Foundation trustees met in San Diego on Jan. 5. Information about the Street Survival program was discussed; Dan Tackett will take the lead on plans for the Chapter to host a Street Survival event.
Driving Event Director’s Report:
It was recommended that a Club Race be combined with the July 19-20 Buttonwillow Driving School. A motion to host a Club Race with the driving school was made and approved.
Newsletter Editor’s Report:
Nothing new to report.
Social Director’s Report:
The wine tasting/lunch tour is on January 27. 30 tickets were purchased for the Padres vs.Dodgers game on April 4. Tickets are $43.00 each and include a $20.00 concession voucher.
Waxmeister’s Report
An outstanding debt still remained from last year's Clean Car Contest. A motion was made and approved to pursue collection if it remained unresolved. Dennis Damon and Gordon Anderson will arrange meeting with the new General Manager at BMW of Encinitas. BMWs will be featured at the Cars and Coffee event in Irvine on Jan. 12 .
Webmeister’s Report:
Mike Turpen will be the contact with Bumper Doc to work on setting up a tech session. A new email list has been established for the Board of Directors. Email notification of web site updates is still being worked on.
Other Business:
Matthew Kogan announced his OnTrack Video rental business.
