Minutes for Jan. 9, 2007
Meeting began at approximately 6:30 pm.

Secretary's Report:
The December minutes were approved without change.
Treasurer's Report:
$18,439 was reported in the checking account and $13,611 in the CD.
President's Report:
The outgoing Board members are transitioning their duties to the new 2007 Board members. The President, Treasurer, and Membership Chair (Vice-Pres.) are invited to the BMWCCA National Congress in Valley Forge, PA, at National's expense. Our new chapter by-laws are in the process of being filed with National. Upcoming events announced were the LA Chapter Holiday Party on Jan. 27, and La Jolla Motorcar Classic on Jan. 14. Nominations were accepted for the chapter's 2006 Service Award, recognizing an individual's contributions to the chapter. Maureen Lyall was selected as this year's recipient. It was announced that member Jesse Adams had recently passed away; a memorial service was scheduled for Jan. 19.
Holiday Party Report:
The party was held at the San Diego Automotive Museum on Dec. 10 and went very well. There was slightly higher attendance this year, along with increased expenses and raffle income. Recommendations for the next holiday party include using the same caterer, menu, RSVP system, and location, planned for Sunday, Dec. 9.
Autocross Director's Report:
Autocross schedule at Qualcomm still not set due to Charger's still playing in post-season. Possible format changes and event improvements were discussed such as pre-registration, and online payment/registration. Other chapters may have existing systems we could utilize.
The chapter's telephone Info Line was discussed; it was decided that it should be discontinued since the web site will have the most up-to-date information.
Driving School Director's Report:
A planning meeting is scheduled to prepare for this year's driving school event to be held May 12-13 at Buttonwillow Raceway.
Newsletter Editor's Report:
The request was made to submit additional content, articles, etc. for inclusion in the newsletter.
Social Director's Report:
Input and ideas are being solicited for potential social events. An online survey was discussed as a way to obtain feedback from members. Ideas for events included: Harbor Brunch or Dinner cruise, Catalina cruise, Palm Springs Tram, Dinner train ride to Tecate, Mt. Palomar Observatory/Temecula winery drive, concerts, air shows at Miramar and El Centro, Member's Garage tour, Borrego Wild Flowers drive.
Waxmeister's Report:
A suggestion was made for a Detail tech session prior to the Clean Car event, possibly part of the Women's Tech event series.
Webmeister's Report:
The Officers web page has been updated. We have survey software available that can be used for online surveys.
Old Business:
BMW CCA National Board election information will come out in the January issue of Roundel. Steven Johnson is one of the candidates for Pacific Regional VP.
