BMWCCA San Diego Chapter – Board Meeting Minutes for August 14, 2007
Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm by Jim Patterson, with Gordon Anderson and Kim Wright being absent.

Secretary’s Report:
The July minutes were distributed and approved with one typo correction.
Treasurer’s Report:
The checking account balance is $7,361.32; the CD balance is $7,690.40. The CD matured and was rolled over for nine months at 5.35%.
Regional Vice President's Report:
Search is still ongoing for a new Executive Director for BMWCCA.
President’s Report:
The Club will distribute passes for car corral parking at the Coronado Speed Festival Oct. 6 & 7. A lunch hosted by Cunningham BMW will also be available. Information on obtaining passes will be posted on the website and in the club newsletter. Planning for a Dyno Day is in the works for sometime in November.
Autocross Director’s Report:
The July 21-22 autocross was very successful; Saturday sold out and Sunday had 85 cars. The event netted about $3000. The continuous lapping session on Sunday was very popular. The Sept. 23 autocross had to be moved to Sat. Sept. 15 due to Sky Show activities. Remaining events are on Oct. 21 and Nov. 17.
Newsletter Editor’s and Advertising Mananger's Report:
New ad rates are in effect and will be posted in the next issue. One new advertiser has been obtained. Electronic versions of the newsletter will be available on the website.
Social Director’s Report:
Tickets for "Chicago" are still available; the Club will try to sell all remaining tickets to minimize any financial loss. Arrangements are underway for a wine tour on Oct. 28.
Waxmeister’s Report
An additional $275 was acquired for the United Ostomy Assoc. by auctioning two $100 Dinan gift certificates, intended for the Clean Car contest, at the July 21-22 autocross. Scheduling for Swap Meet events was suggested to be held every other year, probably at Master Care in San Marcos. Dennis Damon followed up with Encinitas BMW regarding financial commitments made to suport the Clean Car Contest. Management was unwilling to make good on expenses that Dennis covered out-of-pocket. Dennis and Gordon will contact AutoNation headquarters regarding the situation. It is recommended the Club pursue a different partner, such as Brecht BMW, for the Clean Car Contest. Motion by Bill Woolard to reimburse Dennis $420 for Clean Car expenses; approved unanimously. Dennis will reimburse the Club should the money ever be recovered from Encinitas BMW.

Newsletter issues are now posted in pdf format on the website.
Other Business:
Rev'd Up Kustomz is having a Euro Dyno day this weekend. The national BMW CCA Oktoberfest in Ft. Worth was mentioned, and several members plan to caravan to the event.
