BMWCCA San Diego Chapter – Board Meeting Minutes for April 8, 2008
Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Board Members Present:

Secretary’s Report:
The March minutes were distributed and approved without change.
Treasurer’s Report:
The checking account balance is $11,886.81 (-$3,650 in outstanding checks); the CD balance is $7,928.65. Total account funds = $16,165.46.
President’s Report:
Brecht BMW will host a 1 Series introduction on April 17 at 6:00 pm. Strategies for marketing the Buttonwillow Driving School were discussed. Bill Woolard will prepare an announcement flyer including an explanation of the school and event details. Flyers will be distributed at Bimmerfest, upcoming driving schools at Willow Springs and Reno-Fernley, and autocrosses. PDF flyers will be sent other regional chapter newsletters. Announcements will be submitted to the calendar sections of Roundel and bmwcca.org. Kim Wright will announce in online forums. An early registration discount will be offered.
Vice President's Report:
About 25 – 30 new member letters continue to be sent out each month.
BMW CCA Editor's Conference Report:
Lisa Goehring and Bill Woolard gave brief overviews of topics presented at the conference in Salt Lake City.
Autocross Director’s Report:
The next autocross is a two-day event on May 3 & 4 in the West lot. The July 5 & 6 autocross will feature a "shootout" style runoff for the Rug Cunningham Memorial Trophy. Cunningham BMW will a host tech session on May 21 introducing the new M3.
Driving Event Director’s Report:
Dan Tackett reported Andre Pantic's absence; planning for the Buttonwillow school is progressing and online registration is now open.
Newsletter Editor’s Report:
No other information to report.
Social Director’s Report:
45 people attended the Padres game; another game later in the year could possibly be planned. Dates were selected for a Harbor Cruise on August 2 and Summer Pops on August 30. A Palm Springs Tram Ride/Brunch could be scheduled later in the year. A karting event at Miramar Speed Circuit is being planned for June 25.
Waxmeister's Report:
The Clean Car Show is scheduled for May 18; ads are in the newsletter and auction items are being collected.
Webmeister’s Report:
Nothing new to report.
Other Business:
The BMW Ultimate Drive suporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure event will make a stop at Cunningham BMW on May 21; it's not known if the Chapter could be of any assistance.
